For large insurance brokers (among them one with over 300,000 managed customers and one with almost 4 million customers and 5,500 advisors) contract portfolios were analysed with AI: as a benchmark for underwriting and risk prevention, and as a digital pipeline for policy processing.

Price and coverage drivers were barely transparent for customers; insurers lacked data for well-fitting proposals. Industry benchmarks were rarely available and hardly transferable.

Historical contract data existed in an enormous variety of formats, making automation correspondingly complex.
